Mindfulness

A mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work if it isn’t open.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the ability to focus on one’s awareness in the present moment while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations and the environment around us. Mindfulness teaches children to focus on the present, to be aware of themselves and their surroundings, to use their senses effectively and collaboratively.

Yoga

Yoga has a reputation for being a great way to connect mind and body. Many of the poses are easy to implement as well as impactful for children of all ages and adults alike. It can be used to start the day, redirection when needed or simply breath up the norm.

Mindful Breathing

Mindful Breathing helps to teach us to become aware of our thoughts that are coming in and out of our attention. It helps us to control our awareness and develop the ability to choose whether or not to pay attention to thoughts coming in and out of our mind. It helps to reduce anxiety, improve self control and awareness, reduce negative thinking and improve focus.
